“Kevin McCarthy is continuing to pay dividends on his corrupt bargain with MAGA extremists, delivering them the baseless impeachment he promised in exchange for their votes to be Speaker.
“McCarthy may be the weakest Speaker in history as he rushes this announcement – without holding a vote because his own caucus doesn’t support it – so he can hide behind Marjorie Taylor Greene’s skirts before Congressman Gaetz’s floor speech today.
“But no matter how desperate McCarthy is to continue clinging to power it can’t change the fact that years of investigations into these baseless conspiracy theories have found nothing. McCarthy is just letting MAGA extremists serve up old Giuliani leftovers and waste everyone’s time instead of doing anything to actually help the American people.”
