This week Congress is supposed to get to work on behalf of the people who elected them — but after campaigning on issues like inflation and crime, Republicans are instead preparing to focus on expensive partisan investigations that the public has already said should not be a priority.

- CBS – A majority of Americans say Biden is handling the documents investigation well. “The situation is not impacting Biden’s broader ratings. His job approval rating remains unchanged in recent weeks.”
Kevin McCarthy’s criminal cabal keeps saying the quiet part out loud and hoping the American public won’t understand that they’re using all their power to hold sham investigations to settle personal bets instead of doing the work of governing. But the research shows America is listening perfectly well — they’ve been watching the GOP schtick for long enough to see right through it.
- McCarthy & Benghazi – “Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee,” McCarthy said. “What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping.”
- Jordan & Biden – [investigations] “will help frame up the 2024 race, when I hope and I think President Trump is going to run again. And we need to make sure that he wins.”
And last but certainly not least we had a disgusting and racist attack against a former Biden assistant from Comer as well as him admitting that a key pillar of his reasoning to investigate Hunter was a lie.
- Huffington Post – Right-Wing Media, Top Republican Team Up To Push Racist Conspiracy Theory About Ex-Biden Aide. A top Republican and conservative media hosts have been leveling baseless claims against an obscure former Biden official who is Asian American.
- Comer used to say, “I came from a banking background, and I can tell you, nobody ever gets a suspicious activity report.” And this was one of his key stated reasons for investigating Hunter Biden.
- It was pointed out they were in fact incredibly common and were over 62,000 SARs in Comer’s district alone over the past few years.
- At a Press Club event Comer has now done a complete 180 on the SARs completely undermining one of his foundations for the Hunter investigation
