Comer must step down from House Oversight until Ethics Committee can investigate
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Facts First USA President David Brock issued the following statement on the New York Times bombshell expose of Congressman James Comer:
“We already knew Congressman Comer was part of McCarthy’s corrupt bargain to trade Speaker votes for conspiracy theory investigations to hurt Biden and help Trump, but what we learned today in the New York Times was even worse.
“Comer directly admitted he isn’t investigating the Trump family because of politics, and that he was connected to stealing a server and distributing stolen emails to try and discredit allegations from a former girlfriend he abused and took to an abortion clinic.
“Comer must immediately step down from the House Oversight Committee until House Ethics has a chance to investigate these serious and dangerous allegations that Comer himself says he committed.”
