WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Eric Swalwell (CA 14) & Facts First USA held a press call demanding Congressmen Jordan & Comer put up or shut up on their failing investigations as their own witnesses have contradicted their conspiracy theories & their alleged whistleblowers have been unmasked as lying right-wing cranks.
The American people are already sick of this and now everyone from FOX News to former Republican committee staff are also joining in the criticism of Jordan & Comer. If this is all Republicans have they may as well start packing up show instead of prolonging their agony.
“The first three months of Kevin McCarthy’s Congress looks like ‘Take Your Child to Work Day’ – and we are all looking for the adult who brought these children” said Congressman Eric Swalwell.
“It’s clear that the work and the hearings to date have been an unmitigated disaster for the Republicans. The central problem here is that the Republicans are trying to prove things that just aren’t true. And that’s difficult.,” said Facts First USA President David Brock. “So what we are saying this week is it’s time to put up or shut up. It’s time to give us the information, to give us facts, if there are any, or they may as well start packing up shop.”
“We have some polling that shows that even 40% of Republicans thought that they were focused on investigating Biden and the Democrats in an obsessive manner rather than focusing on the real agenda that, frankly, is one that they had promised they would focus on during the midterms.” said Facts First USA Co-Chair Maria Cardona.
